The acronym “AP” stands for Advanced Placement. The purpose of offering AP courses in a secondary school is to give capable high school students an opportunity to complete lower-level university course credits. The College Board conducts AP course exams every May. Students can take multiple course exams in that month. Course categories offered by the College Board now include: AP Capstone, Arts, English, History & Social Science, Math & Computer Science, Sciences, World Languages & Cultures, and more. There are 38 courses in seven categories.
